In this double feature, Tarzan The Fearless (1933) and Tarzan's Revenge (1938), former Olympians Larry "Buster" Crabbe and Glenn Morris play Tarzan, based on the stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs. In Tarzan The Fearless (The second "talkie" Tarzan film created from four parts of a twelve part serial), Tarzan must rescue Dr. Books (E. Alyn Warren) who has been captured by followers of the Midas-like Zar, God of the Jeweled Fingers. Tarzan seeks out he doctor's daughter, Mary (Julie Bishop) for aid.
A similar plot plays out in reverse in Tarzan's Revenge. A young girl named Eleanor (Olympic Swimming Champion Eleanor Holm) is with her parents (George Barbier, Hedda Hopper) and fiancé Nevin (George Meeker) on a hunting excursion. She is spotted by evil sheik Ben Alieu Bey (C. Henry Gordon), who wants to add her to his harem. Alieu Bay kidnaps her and now it is up to Tarzan to return her to her parents!
