"An accomplished debut... A small miracle!" - San Francisco Examiner
A young aspiring writer and a New York native, Marvin, moves to California to write a novel. He ends up rooming with a chaotic musician named Jay and finds himself inexorably drawn into the vibrant youth culture of San Francisco's Mission District. Mission is a coming of age story that casts a spotlight on one place and time, a time before the aspiring artists yielded the Mission to the dotcom entrepreneurs. As both he and Jay watch their worlds hopes and dreams disintegrate, they discover that each has a lot to learn from the other. Jay and Marvin must stick together to endure the upheaval of change. With smart dialogue Mission explores a period in life when youthful hope crumbles and defers to difficult compromises that have to be made.
