Based loosely on the Herman Melville novel, "Omoo," this is the tale of a determined sea captain and the members of his crew who dare to remove a set of valuable black pearls from a sacred island shrine in the Pacific, near Sumatra. According to native legend, anyone who comes into contact with the pearls will fall under a dreaded voodoo curse.
