House Without A Christmas Tree, The

Ten-year-old Addie (Lisa Lucas) is determined to get one thing for Christmas this year... a tree. James, her father (Oscar winner Jason Robards), equally stubborn and still mourning the loss of his wife, can't bear to celebrate the holiday in any way. After Addie wins a Christmas tree in a school contest, it's up to Grandma (Oscar-nominee Mildred Natwick) to try to smooth over the battle between her son and her granddaughter, both of whom she adores. Directed by Emmy winner Paul Bogart and based on the autobiographical book by Gail Rock, this touching story deals honestly with loss, hope and the power of redemption, not only at the holidays, but all year through.
