Tex Ritter starred in numerous singing cowboy vehicles during his relatively brief acting career, but found his real calling as a singer and songwriter. Ritter charted a number of his recordings, notably "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle" and "I'm Wastin' My Tears On You," and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1964.
Riders Of The Frontier (1939)
Masquerading as infamous outlaw Ed Carter, lawman Tex Lowery infiltrates a gang of thugs who have turned Sarah Burton's ranch into their criminal compound. Using low doses of poison to keep her perpetually ill, Bart Lane and his men are slowly swindling Burton out of her entire herd. Only Tex and nurse Martha know what's going on, and it's up to them to blow the lid off Lane's plot.
Roll, Wagons, Roll (1940)
Having no interest in sharing the vast wealth of the frontier with new settlers, Prairie City boss Steve Coleman and his right hand man, Grimes, will do anything in their power to keep the wagon trains out of Oregon. Coleman doesn't know it, but his game is about to end. There's a wagon train passing through, and Tex Masters is on board as an escort. After Grimes attempts to sabotage the wagons, Tex drives headlong into a an inevitable showdown with Coleman.
