Four friends from St. Louis MO travel to a remote cabin in the smoky mountains of Tennessee. Their plan is to help a friend, Bryant "Hairkutt" Johson kick his 15 year addiction to heroin.
This Reel Life documentary follows Hairkutt through his detoxification as withdrawal turns into debilitating and life threatening illness. Eventually, he is so consumed by need for the drug that he attempts to escape the mauntain cabin and return home to the streets of St. Louis, more then 500 miles away.
Although Hairkutt's friends are able to coax him back to the cabin, his condition worsens, and they must rush him to a hospital in an effort to save his life. Is this his deathbed, or is it a springboard to a new life that is free from the drug that has dominated his existence? This story climaxes almost two years later with a tell all truth about the trip and Hairkutt's final condition.
