Flip DVD half way through! - 2.5 out of 5  (10/15/2000)
The worst thing about this DVD is that you have to flip it over half way through the movie! This is an awesome movie, but who wants to do this every time you watch it? Buy the "Stargate: Special Edition." It doesn't require flipping!   more >>

Never quite makes it - 2.75 out of 5  (5/26/1999)
Stunning visuals can only get you so far. What a movie needs is a well written story, a good plot, and good characters, this movie has none. The DVD's audio and video is good, but what the hell is up with having to turn the disc over. DVD is better than that! Bad movie, below average DVD, stay away from this title.   more >>

Star Dreck - 2.25 out of 5  (1/30/1999)
Roland Emmerich is a name film lovers should note - and then avoid. This is the man who brought you the appalling Independence day and Godzilla.. The longevity of his films being dependent on how fast word-of-mouth spreads, usually that does not extend much beyond the opening weekend. Stargate should have served as a warning. An incomprehensible plot, special effects that could be have bettered by Sears and Roebuck's lighting department and acting that makes Keanu Reeves look Shakespearean. T   more >>
