Flawed remake of superior 1971 film - 3 out of 5 (6/16/2008)
This mini-series tries to steal the thunder from the 1971 Robert Wise film but fails miserably. In fact, after seeing the mini-series, it made me appreciate just how good the original film was!
While the original Andromeda Strain dealt with the science involved in detecting and discovering the nature of the eponymous organism (as well as the means to eradicate it), the remake ditches this approach and makes the strain a character in itself. In addition, with the exception of lab animal
