The newest attorney at theiworld's most powerful law firm has never lostia case. But he's aboutito lose his soul.
Kevin Lomax, a ruthless young Florida attorney that never lost a case, is recruited by the most powerful law firm in the world. In spite of his mother's disagreement, which compares New York City to Babylon, he accepts the offer and the money that comes along. But soon, his wife starts feeling homesick as she witnesses devilish apparitions. However, Kevin is sinking in his new cases and pays less and less attention to his wife. His boss and mentor, John Milton, seems to always know how to overcome every problem and that just freaks Kevin right off.

"...Ohhhh....So Many Names!....." - 4.75 out of 5 (7/1/2003)
This movie grew on me over time. I first saw in on TNT. I was quickly tempted to purchase the DVD. Keanu Reeves delivers his 'finest' acting performance ever (he is NOT a good actor.) Al Pacino is dead-on as John Milton / Satan. There are many delightful clues that give hints to Milton's true nature; "Iv'e been misunderstood since day one" is a classic quote from this film.
The longer Kevin Lomax (Reeves) remains in New York, the deeper he succumbs to the darkness. It isn't until his wife Mary

There's no denying Pacino's ability to act - 4.5 out of 5 (6/13/1999)
First can I say I am commenting on the R2 version which to my knowledge is the same as R1 without the 30 mins of deleted scenes.
This film is a great showcase of the humour and wit that Pacino can play. Though at times his acting is slightly over-exuberant I'm sure you'll agree that his portrayal as the Devil is so good you just can't help but like the guy.
