Tea At Four. Dinner At Eight. Murder At Midnight.
The Academy Award® winner for Best Original Screenplay, Gosford Park is a whodunit as only director Robert Altman could do it. As a hunting party gathers at the country estate, no one is aware that before the weekend is over, someone will be murdered - twice! The police are baffled but the all-seeing, all-hearing servants know that almost everyone had a motive.
This critically-acclaimed murder mystery features a who's who of celebrated actors. With a diverse cast of characters - all with something to hide - it'll keep you guessing right to the surprising end. Gosford Park proves that murder can be such an inconvenience.

Pretentious Is Not A Good Word - 3 out of 5 (9/3/2002)
While I am an avid viewer of British movies, I found this movie over-the-top pretentious and boring. I am dumbfounded on how this piece of garbage won an oscar. It appears that the academy worships at the altar of anything foreign. While the disc is nicely done (especially the sound), do not waste your time and energy sitting throught this movie. Your money is better spent watching the Piorot movie series.

British Snobbery At It's Best! - 4.25 out of 5 (8/29/2002)
I went to see Gosford Park with low expectations and thought it would be a lame sort of drama. By the middle of the film I was entirely hooked and couldn't get enough. The script is excellent, winning the Academy Award, the acting is superb and with Robert Altman as a director how can you go wrong? Snobby Brits can be annoying, but this movie pulls it off perfectly and you won't be able to keep your eyes off the screen. LONG LIVE GOSFORD PARK!

Another Masterpiece by Altman. - 5 out of 5 (7/30/2002)
Robert Altman has perfectly captured the British class system of the thirties when the upper classes indulged themselves totally and their servants were poorly paid, given a half day off a week (and very begrudgingly, too) and treated as though invisible. Altman has assembled a cast of Britain's finest headed by mine hosts Lord and Lady McCordle played by Michael Gambon and Kristen Scott Thomas, who are joined by an assortment of friends/relations for a weekend at their country manor. Outstanding
