A mood thriller that just falls short of its potential - 4.25 out of 5 (6/5/2002)
One film genre that has changed a lot over the years is the haunted house thriller. Back in 1944 'The Uninvited' staring Ray Milland took on this type of film with little in the way of special effects and strong on the acting. Now, with the advent of computer generated graphics and special effects the moviemakers seem to feel obligated to cram effects into a film, often to the determent of the story. What a movie! - 4.75 out of 5 (3/20/2003)
No spoiling the movie for anybody but this movie is better than the Sixth Sense. The setting is beautiful yet eery, the script is perfect, casting perfect, picture and audio perfect. The extras were great but how can the trailer be in full frame? And yes the ending oh how brilliant!
Nicole Kidman play's the part perfectly. The music score sets the tone of the film. The others is one of my all time favorites movies period. This movie doesn't need a long review just make sure to add it to your

An absolute five-star winner!! A+ - 4.75 out of 5 (1/26/2003)
This is undoubtedly a five-star movie. From the movie's opening scream to the ending twist, the movie kept me hooked. It was nice to have a very scary movie without any vulgarity, no nudity or sexual situations, no violence...just old fashioned thrills. I would recommend the movie to anyone who, on occasion, likes to be scared and creeped out. Those people easily frightened should stay away. Nicole Kidman was cheated out of an Oscar on this one.
