Believe everything except your eyes.
Cage plays Rick Santoro, a flamboyant Atlantic City police detective who's come to watch the fight and cash in on the hectic betting action. Suddenly, gunfire cuts down a ringside government official, and 14,000 fans suddenly become 14,000 suspects. What eyewitnesses saw, what a casino-wide spycam network reveals and what a mysterious woman in white knows-all lead to a shattering truth Santoro does not want to believe.

Snake Eyes - 4 out of 5 (2/26/1999)
The Movie:
Snake Eyes is a suspenseful action/thriller from the mind of Brian De Palma. It stars Nicholas Cage as an Atlantic City detective who has a thing for taking bribes. His life is about to change though, as he enters the Atlantic City Arena to see a boxing match with his best friend, and military man, Gary Sinise. This night Sinise is guarding a very important man in attendance, the Secretary of Defense. After the Secretary is assassinated Cage must find out what hap

Bad Hand - 3.25 out of 5 (5/15/1999)
Snake eyes is a very good mystery thriller and it extremely well shot and editied. Unfortunately it looses its style 60 percent of the way through and turns into a normal movie. The reason why this is upsetting is because it is so original at first and then it falls into a boring trap and a dissapointing ending.
The audio is all over the place which is good for the movie, the video is not 16X9, but is crisp. The features are only a trailor, overall a pretty dissapointing disc.

So much potential and talent killed by horrible third act. - 3 out of 5 (5/3/1999)
I really wanted to like Snake Eyes. This film is the ideal showcase for Cage and DePalma to show off their stuff, and they don't disappoint, but once again in Hollywood the shoddy screenplay kills a movie that had so much going for it.
The plot is pretty simple: Rick Santoro (Cage) is a dirty Atlantic City cop who is invited to a heavyweight championship fight by his friend, Naval officer Kevin Dunne (Sinise). Dunn happens to be running security for the Security of Defense, who is in attend

Bad plot and acting... - 2.25 out of 5 (3/21/1999)
Cage is so over the top in this movie making it even more unbelievable. I have to say this movie was a disapointment. Gary Sinese returns in his recurring role as a zombie once again. Hats off to the director who should be matched with better actors. Directing that many extras would be a nightmare but he pulls it off, unlike the actors and storyline. The video is not real clear and lacks true color even on a monitor. Rent before you buy this one.
