"Fires oniall cylinders!" -Los Angeles Times
They've got the adrenaline rush and the mean machines, but most of all, they've got the extreme need for speed.
On the turbo-charged streets of Los Angeles, every night is a championship race. With nitro-boosted fury, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), rules the road turning all his challengers into dust. He and his rival, Johnny Tran (Rick Yune) are the boldest, the baddest and the best. But now, there's new rage on the road. They know he's tough, they know he's fast, but what they don't know is that he's a speed demon detective (Paul Walker) with enough drive and determination to come out the winner.
With intense full-throttle action, awesome high-speed stunts, and full-on pedal to the metal intensity, this fast and furious assault puts you in the driver's seat and dares you to exceed all limits.

A fast paced thriller - 4 out of 5 (10/22/2001)
The summer was a very good one for Universal box office wise, but the
biggest success story besides the one that starred a wrestling superstar was
THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS. Critics looked at the film and cried POINT BREAK
and audiences looked at it and bought repeat tickets. I suppose the lesson
learned is that if you are going to rip off a film, then you might as well
do a good one.
Besides, are there any original ideas left in Hollywood these days?

The worst film in the last 25 years! AVOID!!! - 3 out of 5 (3/8/2003)
Nice cars-Honda Civics? Are you serious? Where are the Lambos, Porsches, Ferraris?
I was so bored with this movie. It's dire. Anyone giving this 5 stars is a low-browed moron.
Put this disc in the microwave. It'll give you more enjoyment. Or throw the disc like a frisbee.
Terrible.

Dont even bother - 1.75 out of 5 (7/31/2002)
I finally got around to seeing some movies that have been out for awhile, this was one of them. The movie its self is nothing more then a commerical targeted at 16-25 year old guys who think they are the real slim shady. This movie as a whole is awful, bad acting and no plot. I've steven segal movie that are more believible then this turd of a movie.
