There are many of us who still remember CARRIE as one of the original horror
movies. It was one of the most successful films of 1976 and it went on to
earn Academy Award nods for both Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. It also got
a spot on the cover of Time magazine and a focus of an article about the new
breed of horror. The irony being that it was actually the dawn of a new
breed of horror, and that was due to it being the first movie based on an
original work by a small town teacher

Sissy Spacek is the # 1 Carrie! - 5 out of 5 (11/3/2003)
Sissy Spacek rules as Carrie White. There was a 2002 re-make version with Angela Bettis in the title role, but she does not compare to Sissy's version.

This movie is great!!! But the DVD... - 4 out of 5 (4/4/2003)
just can't cut it! I think it can't cut the Special Edtion line. But the movie is all of this DVD because it's one of the best adaptations of Stephen King's novels(This was his first book)! Acting is well-planned, as well as a very well-planned horror film! BUY IT
