Action packed sequel that will rock your speakers - 4.75 out of 5 (9/7/2002)
While most action sequels seem to feel that more disgusting the better, few actually even try to come up with an original approach. Blade II fortunately provides a good enough twist from the original so that it stands on its own while continuing the themes of the first. Based on a popular comic book (now called graphic novels) the story follows Eric Brooks (Wesley Snipes), also called Blade, the Daywalker. Excellent! - 5 out of 5 (7/22/2002)
Thoughts:
These days, it just doesn't sound right to start off with the sentence "a
sequel that surpasses the original" because the technology seems to keep
getting better and better and the studios seem to be finally getting the
idea that you need to go to the right people to get the job done.
BLADE 2 is a perfect example. The original BLADE stands as one of the few
examples of a dead on perfect comic book adaptation. All of the credit went

Bad sequel to a near perfact original. - 2.5 out of 5 (3/31/2003)
Rent first and then consider buying. It's certainly nothing to brag about. I feel sorry for people who see this before they see the original. This movie moves too fast and takes very little time on character development. Yes action is cool, but without characters that we love its just kaos. Blade I is awsome. I hope a third instalment picks up the slack and shows us the dark Blade we met in the first movie.

Blade was a better film.
Blade II is a better movie.
Del Toro's film not only has the best audio I've heard yet, but is so damn fast-paced and stylish that it was a real treat to watch. Add the awesome bonuses, the Bloodpack doc the real standout, and you've got a killer DVD. Top notch.
