This is the definative prsentation of this fantasy classic - 4.75 out of 5 (5/21/2002)
For as long as film as been around as a media there has been movies that although they did not appeal to the masses the held the favor of a fanatical group of fans. These 'cult classics' have a fan base that can recite every line of dialogue, know all the behind the scenes dirt and will debate into the small hours of the morning controversies only they can see. A legendary disc - 5 out of 5 (4/29/2002)

Excellent fantasy movie - 4.75 out of 5 (7/7/2002)

the story while not as epic as say "the lord of the rings" is none other than short, sweet and simple. and with all the generous and gorgeous eye candy and now enhanced visual clarity of the full-original production. I can say I am thankful to have it in my collection.
While I prefered the T.Dream score, the

QUICK REVIEW OF DVD - 4.25 out of 5 (6/22/2002)
The DVD looks and sounds great. I thought the "ulitmate" edition was more coherent but much too long, while the original U.S. theatrical release was too choppy and confusing (and didn't look as pristine, of course). The difference, I think, might have been best with the pacing stepped up a notch through almost the entire film, but most of the dialogue retained. But would that require an entire re-edit?
I also preferred the original U.S.-version Tangerine Dream score, since it lent a mo
