In theiheart of suburbia,ia hit man with heart has just moved in.
There goes the neighborhood -- in a pine box. When hit man Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski moves into a comfy suburb, everyone's suddenly in danger of pushing up daisies. And it's not all Jimmy's doing, either.
Jonathan Lynn (My Cousin Vinny) directs and a top cast packs heat in this manic comedy about life, love and plenty of ammo. Bruce Willis is Jimmy, whose arrival sparks a chain reaction in which just about everybody wants to clip somebody else. Matthew Perry plays a hapless dentist who finds a way to get on the Tulip's good and bad sides. And Rosanna Arquette, Michael Clarke Duncan, Natasha Henstridge, Amanda Peet and Kevin Pollak add to the wacky and whacked fun of "a laugh riot" (Larry King, USA Today).

Giving the mob a good name! - 3.75 out of 5 (7/17/2000)
The center of attention seems to be placed on the mafia as of late. Shows like "The Sopranos" along with films like "Analyze This" and "The Whole Nine Yards" show the softer side of the mob.
The funny thing is; if Hollywood keeps this up, they are going to give the mob a good name!
"The Whole Nine Yards" is a pleasant enough comedy. At first sight, it seems like a typical whodunit or rather, whoisgoingtodoit comedy, but after you stick with it for a while, the performances raise it above

Great movie, mixed feelings on DVD - 4.25 out of 5 (1/8/2001)
I love this type of comedy. Perry was great in this role.
The image quality of the DVD was great. I'm not a fan of the packaging. Although having a choice is nice, I don't really like having a DVD that can be flipped over depending on whether you want to watch the movie letterboxed or pan-scan. This means there is a very small label at the center of the disc which is not easy to read.
That's my only real complaint. I would still recommend this movie.
