Empire Review GHOST on the machine - 4.25 out of 5  (1/16/2008) I didn't exactly avoid Ghost Rider when it "blazed" into theaters last year, but it was nowhere near the top of my list of "Must See" flicks for 2007 either. Judging by the cast and the director, I knew there was bound to be eye-candy thanks to the charming Eva Mendes, and at the very least, the director of Daredevil would deliver a competent and palatable superhero flick. Usually, I come to regret doing that, but not this time. This was much more engaging and entertaining movie than I was expecting and is a much darker film than I was expecting from an early 70's Marvel comic book character. The evil characters which the Ghost Rider battles are pretty creepy. The special effects are very good and serve to tell the story as is intended without a lot of overkill and becoming an FX spectacle for FX sake. Wait u   more >>
