Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) was only a teenaged stunt biker when he sold his soul to the devil (Peter Fonda). Years later, Johnny is a world-renowned daredevil by day, but at night, he becomes the Ghost Rider of Marvel Comics legend. The devil's bounty hunter, he is charged with finding evil souls on earth and bringing them to hell. But when a twist of fate brings Johnny's long-lost love (Eve Mendes) back into his life, Johnny realizes he just might have a second chance at happiness - if he can bear the devil and win back his soul. To do so he'll have to defeat Blackheart (Wes Bentley), the devil's nemesis and wayward son, whose plot to take over his father's realm will bring hell on earth - unless Ghost Rider can stop him.

I didn't exactly avoid Ghost Rider when it "blazed" into theaters last year, but it was nowhere near the top of my list of "Must See" flicks for 2007 either. Judging by the cast and the director, I knew there was bound to be eye-candy thanks to the charming Eva Mendes, and at the very least, the director of Daredevil would deliver a competent and palatable superhero flick. BD Ghost Rider is a fun ride with a dark edge! - 4 out of 5 (8/7/2007)
I bought Ghost Rider: Extended Cut sight unseen. Usually, I come to regret doing that, but not this time. This was much more engaging and entertaining movie than I was expecting and is a much darker film than I was expecting from an early 70's Marvel comic book character. The evil characters which the Ghost Rider battles are pretty creepy. The special effects are very good and serve to tell the story as is intended without a lot of overkill and becoming an FX spectacle for FX sake. Wait u
