"Screamingly Funny!" -Los Angeles Times
May the farce be with you in this hysterically funny space oddity, created by comic genius Mel Brooks, that will send you into hyperspace with fits of laughter! Lampooning everything from Star Wars to Star Trek, this outrageous send-up of epic sci-fi-movies is full of cosmic crazies who score "eight trillion on the laugh-meter" (Gene Shalit, NBC-TV)!
Fearless -- and clueless -- space heroes Lone star (Bill Pullman) and his half man/ half dog sidekick Barf (John Candy) wage interstellar warfare to free Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil clutches of Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). On the way to the rescue -- in their Winnebago -- they confront the huge, gooey Pizza The Hutt (voice of Dom De Luise), sassy robot Dot Matrix (voice of Joan Rivers) and a wise little creature named Yogurt (Brooks), who teaches them the mystical power of "The Schwartz" in order to bring peace -- and merchandising rights -- to the entire galaxy!

Here's your damn Star Wars! - 4.5 out of 5 (4/25/2000)
"Spaceballs" is Mel Brooks version of lampooning that holiest of trinities; "Star Wars". It spares no joke as it tears apart every facet of the film from the plot all the way down to the marketing.
Daphne Zuniga (The Sure Thing) plays Royal Princess Vespa who is also a royal pain in the ass. The film starts on the day of her wedding to Prince Valium who is barely awake for the ceremony. She is due to be wed to unite two planets against the dreaded Spaceballs. Her planet Druidia is one of

I laughed at every scene of the film! - 5 out of 5 (8/30/2002)
"Spaceballs" is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen! The film deals with Planet Spaceball's President Skroob (Mel Brooks) sending Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) to steal Planet Druidia's air supply to replenish their own, but Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his friend Barf (John Candy) are here to stop them! "Spaceballs" is a movie you should own on DVD if you have a DVD player, just like I do.

*****Excruciatingly Hilarious!!!!!***** - 4.75 out of 5 (11/16/2001)
Want comedy? Want cheeziness to the max? Then this is the film for you! Mel Brooks does a slap dap excellent job of spoofing every sci-fi film that was out, at the time Spaceballs was made. Be it Star Wars, Star Trek, or Aliens, its all there! The DVD version is even more of a treat, with remastered Dolby Digital Audio, and 1:85 ratio widescreen, the crispness in the picture quality is exhuberant to be seen as well, especially if you have a Hi-Definition TV (Sony XBR). All in all an excellent co
