"Television will never be theisame!"
Even more compelling today than when it was first released, Network is a wickedly funny, dead-on indictment of the TV news media. Winner of four Academy Awards it pulses with "vitality and a provocative excitement that is forever rare." Many talented stars are in this searing portrait of television exploitation. When longtime news anchor Howard Beale id fired, he suffers a violent, on-air breakdown. But when his sagging rating are boosted by his angry ratings, he's subsequently rehired and reinvented as the "mad prophet of the airwaves." Of course, when the "prophet" ceases to be profitable, something has to be done about Beale, preferably on camera, before a live studio audience....

One of the greatest acting in Motion Picture.... - 3 out of 5 (7/22/2004)
"IM MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE"
This is one hysterical film and has a great cast of actors. To me it has one of the best acting ever along with Raging Bull. I do wish that it will have a better DVD cus this is one of those DVD I cant get since its out of stock. Peter Finch is soo great in this movie he stole the movie. I also think William Holden and Faye Dunaway are great. this film I give a 5 outta 5.

The Best of the 70's - 4.25 out of 5 (5/16/1999)
Network shows the talents of Sidney Lumet off in the best possible way. An intelligent and articulate piece of cinematic greatness that cynicaly disects the place that the media has within our society.
Althought this has extras that are better than average, its the film that truely make's this worth having.
A real treat.

? ? ? ? - 4.25 out of 5 (1/6/1999)
I don't get it. This film is clever, ironic, intelligent, brilliant and it requires a fonctionnal brain. It can't be a major studio picture. Oh yeah, OK. It's been made during that far away age when Hollywood didn't think the audience was just a bunch of idiots (armageddon...). Well, Network is a dinosaur. It doesn't exist anymore, but we know it did and we can watch it, thanks to DVD. Enjoy this great anti-TV movie, its acting, directing, screenplay and then throw your copy of Armageddon in the
