Fast Times at Ridgemont High, directed by Amy Heckerling (Clueless), is simply a modern cult classic. First-time screenwriter Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire), went undercover as a high school student and came back with the straight dope on sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, while capturing some of the most memorable screen characters ever. They're all here, from Stacy (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Linda's (Phoebe Cates) sexual misadventures to go-getter Brad's (Judge Reinhold) quick career in the world of fast food to the unforgettable Spicoli (Sean Penn) as the ultimate surfer dude. Add appearances by Nicolas Cage, Anthony Edwards, Forest Whitaker and Ray Walston and you have an unbeatable cast. With all this talent behind it, no wonder Fast Times at Ridgemont High is as honest, fresh and funny as it was a generation ago.

Surf's up dude! - 4.25 out of 5 (7/3/2000)
It seems as if the classic teenage sex comedy is making a comeback! What with the success of "American Pie" and "Road Trip", it just seemed like a good time to go back to the basics and check out one of the films that started it all.
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" is one of the absolute best! It's also the most historically accurate as it was the film that Cameron Crowe started his career on when he went undercover as a high school student to get the real deal material for his first screenpl

What's so special about a Digital MONO soundtrack? This was is a classic comedy, but to market it as a collector's edition is criminal.

Fast Times - A - 3.75 out of 5 (4/18/2002)
Two aspects of this disc make it one of the better DVD's out there: 1, the commentary by director Amy Heckerling (Clueless) and writer/director Cameron Crowe (Say Anything, Jerry McGuire, Almost Famous) just goes on and on after the film has finished. You are literally left with a blank screen while these two collaborators remember the making of this picture ... 20 minutes after its over. 2, the documentary, which like those on the other Universal Special Edition discs is awesome and full leng
