The horror isiLegion.
A woman crawls by unnoticed - on the ceiling like a fly. A long-dead killer claims victim after victim. Flames erupt, snakes slither, the ground opens and reveals a writhing pit of the damned. The evil is back.
Also back is the creative force whose novel and Oscar -winning screenplay shaped the trailblazing the Exorcist. Adapting his novel "Legion," William Peter Blatty writes and directs The Exorcist III, a jolting foray into terror that begins where the first film ended. George C. Scott plays police Lt. Kinderman, investigating mysterious murders. Kinderman doesn't believe in demons and possession. Not yet. Jason Miller reprises his priestly role from the original. And look for Samuel L. Jackson, pro basketball's Patrick Ewing and more bit-role surprises.

Blatty's Last Dance With the Devil - 3.75 out of 5 (4/18/2001)
It may have taken about 15 years or more but finally they got it right! After the failure of Exorcist II: The Heretic my hopes of seeing an Exorcist sequel that would be as powerful as the original were diminished. Thankfully, writer/director William Peter Blatty took the reins and steered Exorcist III in the right direction. And although this film is not as powerful as the original (but then again what film has been, up until perhaps The Sixth Sense?), it's a pretty close match. George C. Scott

You might be surprised... - 3.25 out of 5 (11/12/2000)
If you are looking for the original Exorcist, this isn't it. However, this film delivers some striking storytelling and scary visuals that make up for your misplaced expectations. An exceptional performance by George C. Scott, and Brad Douriff make this a very dialogue driven yet intense film. Written and directed by Blatty, who penned the original, this is not a movie to miss if you are a 'thinking' horror fan. This one actually takes a brain to appreciate.
For EXORCIST fans... go watch
