"I wantedito describe theiagony ofia wounded soul of someone decaying from theiinside." -Kei Fujiwara, Director
Two horrific and blood-drenched stories intertwine in this graphically violent feature film from Kei Fujiwara (star of Tetsuo).
A Tokyo police officer falls victim to a Yakuza body-parts selling syndicate. Numata, the officer's brother, investigates and discovers the evil Yoko, leader of the syndicate. The alternate plotline involves Seaki, Yoko's Biology teacher brother, as he conducts experiments on the reanimated limbless body of the missing police officer...keeping him alive with the blood taken from high school virgin girls.
This film caused a huge controversy in Japan when it was released theatrically, forcing the director to release it in a cut form even in the Japanese cinemas. Synapse Films is proud to present Organ in its original uncut version.

Take out this organ! - 2.75 out of 5 (5/2/2000)
"Organ" is one of those films you hear so much about, you just have to see it.
Originally banned in Tokyo until it was trimmed by over twenty minutes, it was presented in a ridiculously cut version, which made little sense. The film still managed to fall into cult status and became an underground hit in Japan.
Synapse now released the full uncut version on DVD and one can see why it was cut.
This film actually manages to out-gore most American horror films and the gore is so credib

Japanese Underground Filmmaking - 3.75 out of 5 (3/9/2003)
This is a good (though confusing) movie that helps characterize the Japanese underground filmmaking movement. The main character is part of a organ-stealing group, and suffers from a strange flesh-devouring disease on his side. After cutting into an officer, another main character (a fellow police officer) joins the plot as he tries to kill this group.
It is easy to get lost in this movie, but it is still good to watch.
