Ferris Bueller. Larger than life. Blessed with a magical sense of serendipity. He's a model for all those who take themselves too seriously. A guy who knows the value of a day off.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off chronicles the events in the day of a rather magical young man, Ferris (Matthew Broderick). One spring day, toward the end of his senior year, Ferris gives in to an overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his girl (Mia Sara) and his best friend (Alan Ruck), to see the sights, experience a day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage and a red Ferrari, life at 17 can be a joy!

the funniest movie of the 80's - 4.25 out of 5 (6/15/2002)
Although most of the stars of this classic teen comedy flick are now long gone or just aren't as sparkly as they were when this mvoie was released, Ferris Bueller's Day Off is still the best comedy movie of the dreadful 80's. Jeffrey Jones's Ed Rooney character is the highlight as the school dean who gets his ass kicked, ripped and bitten by everything and everybody except the one person whose driving him nuts, Mathew Broderick's Ferris Bueller. Alan Ruck's Cameron Frye is the legendary characte

Great Movie, No Features - 3.75 out of 5 (12/3/2001)
This is one of my favorite movies from the 80's. When I bought it on dvd, I was disappointed that the only special feature is commentary by John Hughes. However, I still feel that this is a must buy dvd.

Save Ferris! - 3.75 out of 5 (11/7/1999)
This is probably the greatest of John Hughes' films, a definate departure from the "Brat Pack" movies that made him popular. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a better and deeper look into 80's adolescent life than its predecessors and Matthew Broderick gives probably the best performance of his film career.
The DVD transfer is very good. The audio (5.1) and video are both great, especially when compared to other DVDs from this genre and time period. The only unfortunate thing is that it comes with
