"The Best Romantic Comedy In Years!" - CBS
Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) is the world's most famous movie star. Her picture has been plastered on the cover of every magazine, and every time she makes a movie, the entire world knows about it.
William Thacker (Hugh Grant) owns a travel bookstore in the quaint neighborhood of Notting Hill. His business is stagnant, he has the roommate from hell and his love life is completely nonexistent.
Then one day, their paths cross and the couple comes to face the ultimate question: can two people fall in love with the whole world watching?

Arrrgggg!!! - 1 out of 5 (5/20/2001)
If this is how the rest of the world think us British act, don't be fooled.
The characters in this film are awful to watch if you are a true brit!!!! It makes me cringe to think this is how we are pictured - try watching a real British film such as Get Carter or Rita, Sue and Bob Too.
Richard Curtis wrote a classic with Blackadder - but has sold out with this rubbish.
As if a movie star would fall for a wet southern tart like Hugh Grant's character!

Mediocre romantic-comedy film.... - 3.5 out of 5 (2/12/2000)
Good movie with great actors...Good film to rent..
Definitely not worth buying. It might be romantic comedy
but you will laugh only couple of times..
Entertaining movie but not great...Story is well written..
Julia and Hugh were perfect for this film ...
It might be good to watch it with ur wife just once
then it would stay on the shelf forever.
Tediuos commentary,Hugh grants movie tips which
I didnt enjoy, trailers, production notes are the extras.

You can watch it over and over again - 5 out of 5 (12/7/1999)
I completely disagree with "Waste of time" comment. This is a very good film with great actors and a wonderful story. The quality is brilliant. I also would like to see a Director's Cut.
