First and maybe the best! - 3 out of 5 (7/27/2000)
I remember the year 1980 very well. I was a freshman in High school and the status quo to beat was this little known horror movie called "Friday The 13th." The movie was whispered about in the hallways because they actually showed a head being chopped off and there were also several scenes of nudity, making it a grand film for freshman to see.
Alas, I was never one of the cool ones then, but I was one of the first to have a cable hook-up in my neighborhood and I made a lot of friends that mo

DVD excellent quality - 4.25 out of 5 (6/25/2009)
Considering this is 30 years old, transfer looks great! This is the ONlY movie that Siskel & Ebert gave the ending away! A line that should never be crossed yet was. Ebert said it was a gimmick and would never last. The irony is Siskel is dead and the latest FT13th was the highest grossing ever on opening weekend, longest series ever and No. 1 best selling dvd right now in America. Watch what you say about Jason!!

Not the best of the series. - 3.75 out of 5 (2/3/2004)
This movie was a pretty good thriller. Let's just say most of the sequels where better (Friday The 13th part 3). Anyway, this movie has a awsome transfer and is flawless, but Paramount lacks on extras. All we get is a theatrical trailer. Some of this movie was censored by the MPAA. Still buy it if your a fan of the series.

The One That Started It All - 3.25 out of 5 (8/5/2003)
This is the best Friday The 13th movie despite what anyone else says. This has a very original story and without this one there couldn't have been the 10 sequels. Basically its like this.. Camp counselors are looking to open a camp that's been shut down for 22 years due to some unknown deaths. Turns out some counselors left a boy alone in the water and he ended up drowning. Although Jason is not the killer in this one, he is shown. It's his mother who cuts people up this time. I don't know what
