The Most Fun You'll Ever Have Being Scared!
Two macabre masters - writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero - conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and gags style of classic '50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father's Day cake. A meteor's ooze makes everything...grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of a fine cast (Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the Creepshow begin!

A good scare! - 3.5 out of 5 (3/2/2000)
The usual thinking is one great horror film maker is good. So two should naturally be better!
When the two are George Romero and Stephen KIng, I think it's safe to assume that.
"Creepshow" was the first and last collaberation between the two. It was designed to bring back the magical days of the old E.C. comic books and it does that quite well.
The film is made of five vignettes tied together by a framing device like a comic book. The movie starts out as a father tos

One of the the great films that deserves better than this release - 3 out of 5 (9/17/2009)
Creepshow is a one of the rare examples of film history where two well-known names of the genre has teamed up: this time, its George Romero (who previously teamed with Dario Argento with Dawn Of The Dead) and writer Stephen King. However, this release actually deserves better than this bare-bones release! first off, the widescreen version is actually cropped from the full screen. Second, its not even digitally remastered, and third, the only extra is the trailer. Although this is a great movie,

Very great collection of stories... - 3.5 out of 5 (3/13/2003)
This is a very cool anthology with "Jolting Tales of Horror"! It starts with a boy, (Who is actually played by Stephen King's son JOE) who gets his Creepshow comic book taken away from his abusive father which hates horror with a passion. So then he throws it in the garbage can.
The kid sees a Grim Reaper out his front window, and soon we go into an animated vision of credits which is incredible.
The first story is not-so-well-thought-of called "Father's Day" about a greedy family which celeb

Frightfull fun! - 4 out of 5 (12/21/2002)
Classic anthology film that seems largely underrated.
It has this magic to it that delivers a entertaining, creepy, gruesome & fun experiance which most horror films today lack.
The best story of them all is without a doubt "The Crate". It's well made, tension filled nightmare with some dark humor thrown in the mix & really freaks me out.
The rest of the stories are all pretty good, but can't beat that segment. The last story "They're Creeping Up On You" is ok as it was my first time seeing
