"Scary As Hell" - Peter Traver, Rolling Stone
In October 1994, three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland, while shooting a documentary... A year later their footage was found.
Now prepare for a motion picture experience unlike anything you've ever seen, heard, or feared before. The Blair Witch Project follows a trio of filmmakers on what should have been a simple walk in the woods... but quickly becomes an excursion into heart-stopping terror. As the three become inexplicably lost, morale deteriorates. Hunger sets in. Accusations fly. By night, unseen evil stirs beyond their campfire's light. By day, chilling ritualistic figures are discovered nearby. As the end of their journey approaches, they realize that what they are filming now is not a legend...but their own descent into unimaginable horror.

My Favorite Horror Movie - 5 out of 5 (10/1/2003)
I saw this in the theatres back in 99 when i was 15 and I loved it. To this day it remains my fav horror movie. Its so original.. and considering how low budget it was it made good profit. The movie itself is about 80 minutes long and surprisingly never gets me motion sick. The feature are good. I enjoy the timeline, deleted scene and the documentary to be very informative on the background of the blair witch story. the commentary is also very good. and it has some movie trailors which are rathe

In a word... CRAP - 2 out of 5 (3/20/2001)
What is the friggin' big deal? This film is the lamest attempt at horror I have ever seen. Do I really want to watch 1 1/2 hours of 3 idiots bitching and moaning about being lost? Oh look, scary rocks and twigs. The ending is cool, the rest is horrible.

True Acting! Awesome!!! - 3.5 out of 5 (3/8/2001)
Forget Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, etc. These kids did
a hell of a job. The only horror film ever that made me scared. Forget about the monsters, the creeping door and all the B.S. they put into movies. Only ones so down to earth like this movie will ever be able to scare you.
