Trapped In Time. Surrounded By Evil. Low On Gas.
Bound in human flesh, inked in blood - and amazingly hard to pronounce - the ancient "Necronomicon" (Book of the Dead) unleashes unspeakable evil upon mankind in director Sam Raimi's (Darkman) outrageously hilarious sword-and-sorcery epic.
Back to do battle with the hideous "Deadites," Bruce Campbell reprises his role from the Evil Dead series as Ash, the handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk from S-Mart's housewares division. Demonic forces time warp him - and his '73 Oldsmobile - into England's Dark Ages, where he romances a beauty (Embeth Davidtz) and faces legions of undead beasts, including a ghastly army of skeletons. Can Ash save the living from the evil dead, rescue his girlfriend, and get back to his own time?
Overflowing with spectacular special effects, Army of Darkness will make you scream with fear and laughter.

ARMY OF DARKNESS...All hail the MEDIEVIL DEAD! - 4.5 out of 5 (8/27/2001)
Army of Darkness, much like its predecessors, Evil Dead, and Evil Dead 2, is by and far some of the craziest, creative, over the top film making you will ever see. Originally was going to be called, "MEDIEVIL DEAD" in line with the trilogy, however something in the producers mind said they should not associate the film directly with these other two horror-splatter-comedy films. They were partially right.
Army of Darkness somewhat begins where Evil Dead 2 ends, though let me point out, no film

Finally, a terrific version of a terrific film! - 4.5 out of 5 (3/23/2001)
Anchor Bay's presentation of Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness is the closest you can get to a definitive version, short of spending $150 on eBay for the double-disc director's cut. The film itself is an action-packed laugh fest. It is a perfect ending to a the Evil Dead trilogy. The picture quality is great on this version and the sound is THX approved! The viewer can choose from full or widescreen aspects, view a behind the scenes featurette, see talent bios, and even view the original ending! Ther

The Army is Back! Now What Do We Do? - 4.5 out of 5 (1/25/2001)
You all know by now that this is a cult classic. A film that spans the generation gap and ethnic boundries. Why? I really have no idea. The film in itself is a cocktail mix between Jason and the Argonauts, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Three Stooges! It mixes the genres perfectly. Sam Raimi, the co-writer and director puts together a solid film that, thank goodness doesn't take itself seriously. The DVD is quite a piece of work. Good picture, great sound and a bunch of extras. Now this is the
