It took God six daysito create theiHeavens anditheiEarth ... andiMonty Python ninety minutesito screw it up.
Those six pandemonium-mad Pythons are back with their craziest adventure ever! John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin have returned to explain The Meaning of Life. These naughty Britons offer the usual tasteful sketches involving favorite bodily parts and functions, the wonders of war, the miracle of birth and a special preview of what's waiting for us in Heaven. Nothing is too sacred for the Python crew. After seeing them in action, you'll never look at life in quite the same way again. It's far-out, frank, and jolly good fun. Winner of the 1983 Cannes Film Festival Special Jury Prize..

No improvement over VHS - 2 out of 5 (8/27/1998)
Universal went cheap on DVD again. This looks like like a half-assed transfer from the LD. Even though I loved the movie, this DVD is nothing special.

Great for Python fans everywhere! - 3.75 out of 5 (8/22/1998)
This is one of my favorite movies, and I'm thrilled to be able to have it on DVD! While lightyears ahead of VHS, there could have been more care in the cleaning of the film before transfer, and there is one spot during the infamous "third world" section that jumps a bit. Otherwise, the audio is excellent, color is much better than I've ever seen in any Monty Python movie, and it's a good value. Extras are sparse, but it's still every bit as enjoyable as the first time I ever saw it.

Any one who loves Monty Python should check this out. It offers a hilarious look at what life can be like. A classic in it's own time next to the Holy Grail.
