Fifteen years ago, Michael Myers brutally massacred his sister. Now, after escaping from a mental hospital, he's back to relive his grisly crime again, and again...and again.
This is Halloween like you've never seen or heard it before!
Halloween has been fully restored under the supervision of Lucasfilm's THX Digital Mastering Services. The video was transferred by the award-winning colorist Adam Adams (Terminator2, Titanic) from a new 35mm interpositive (mode from the original camera negative) and approved by the film's cinematographer Dean Cundey (Jurassic Park, Who Framed Roger Rabbit). The new Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack was created by Chace Productions in association with Alan Howarth using the original 16-track music studio master and the recently discovered original 35mm magnetic dialogue & effects tracks.

Which version to own, which not to own? - 5 out of 5 (6/7/2004)
Has there ever been a film that has seen more renditions than John Carpenter's ultimate fright flick 'Halloween'? Only one other film comes to mind when it comes to having seen an seemingly endless flood of VHS and now, DVD releases and that would be George Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead'. This time though, the folks at Anchor Bay have finally released the Halloween version to end all Halloween versions to add to ones video library.
The 'Bay's' first release of Halloween in the late 90's

A Classic!!! Amazing restoration!!! - 5 out of 5 (4/30/2003)
This is the quintessential horror flick. Maybe could have used a little more blood/guts but that's just me. But full of suspense. The opening scene grabs you. Excellent filming throughout movie. The picture quality is amazing on this dvd. They truly did an amazing job with the audio/video restoration. The special features include a look back with cast/crew, trailers, tv spots, radio spots, bios, still galleries, and a trivia section! Overall a great buy!!

Let me say this is a... - 4.25 out of 5 (3/11/2003)
very well-planned slasher flick!
This is much better than some of its sequels (I only saw a few on them) and features Jamie Lee Curtis in young age. DVD Features aplenty, not a lot of guts spilling out or bloodletting, but this is a good part of your DVD collection. In my opinion, I think Friday the 13th is equally as good as this one. BUY IT
