Synopsis
A frank exploration of voyeurism and violence, Michael Powell's extraordinary film is the story of a psychopathic cameraman - his childhood traumas, sexual crises, and murderous revenge as an adult. Reviled by critics upon its initial release for its deeply unsettling subject matter, the film has since been hailed as a masterpiece.

Not a peep out of you! - 4 out of 5  (2/8/2000)
Criterion will always hold a special place in my heart. I haven't a clue where they get their ideas for their collections. I will admit to wondering about some of their choices but I have yet to be disappointed. This same theory holds true for their release of "Peeping Tom." Originally made in 1959, the movie was to be the crowning glory of British director Michael Powell. It was to be the European version of Psycho and filmmakers predicted it would go far.
