"Big. Bold. Lavish. Outstanding visual mischief." -- Janet Maslin, The New York Times
Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silverstone) puts them frequently in harm's way. New very special effects include a wild sky-surfing sequence and Freeze's outrageous ice-blasting arsenal.

Batman Takes A Dive - 4 out of 5 (10/14/2005)
To his credit, not only does director Joel Schumacher take full credit for the failure of Batman & Robin, but he offers up an apology for any that were disappointed by the film. He admits that the main motivation behind the movie was to make it "toyetic," a term that indicates that most of the scenes and gadgets in Batman & Robin were simply there to sell product for toy companies. Personally, I don't know if that makes Schumacher a "hack" for allowing corporations to dictate wha
