There are a lot of bat-fans out there who blame director Joel Schumacher for the demise of the Batman motion picture franchise. But most of that blame should be placed on Schumacher's Batman & Robin and not Batman Forever, which turns out to be a pretty decent flick on many levels.
After the very dark Batman Returns, Warner Brothers wanted to "lighten" things up a bit, so director Tim Burton was not asked to return (although he remained on as a producer of this fi

Not Batman Begins... but Batman Forever is the next best Batman film. - 4 out of 5 (4/14/2006)
Tim Burton moved out of the director's chair and instead served as producer for Joel Schumacher's box office smash Batman Forever. Val Kilmer accepted the cape and cowl after Keaton left the franchise, and he nailed the role in outstanding fashion in what is arguably the most under-appreciated performance in a superhero role since Terrance Stamp's "General Zod" in Superman II.
