Synopsis
A romantic comedy about right, wrong andieverythingiin between.

When 48-year-old widow Hwei-Lan Gao (Joan Chen) informs her less-than understanding father she's pregnant, he banishes her from Flushing until she remarries or proves Immaculate Conception. With nowhere else to go, Hwei-Lan moves in with her grown daughter, Wil (Michelle Krusiec), a Manhattan doctor who doesn't want a roommate, especially since she's met Viv (Lynn Chen), her sexy young lover. So Wil does what any dutiful child with an expectant, unmarried mother on her hands would do: she proceeds to set Hwei-Lan up with every eligible bachelor in town.

Saving Face Review - 4 out of 5  (10/31/2005)
Saving Face is a romantic comedy/drama about two lesbians, but if you're a pervert looking for some quick skin, don't bother. This is a movie that has more in common with When Harry Met Sally or Jerry Maguire than exploitive flicks like Personal Best or Bound which feature lesbian romances just to titillate the men in the audience. Instead, Saving Face is a heartfelt romantic comedy about accepting who you are, even if other people don't. The film tel   more >>

An honest and wonderful film. - 4 out of 5  (11/16/2005)
When I first saw the preview for this movie, I was rather skeptical about watching yet another stereotypical Asian romantic movie. Instead, this movie was one of the best I have ever watched. The movie gives an honest and upfront perspective on being in love, being a lesbian (in and out of the closet), and being Asian American. This may not be a film for the entire family (it does contain some adult themes and images so parents may not want children to be watching it just yet), but it is a   more >>
