Customer Review Buy the original Out of Towners---- - 2.25 out of 5  (5/28/2003) This remake of the Neil Simon comedy sucked! There are very few funny parts in the movie, and if you want to see a hilarious version of a couple going from the small-town life of Ohio to the big-city life of NYC, buy the original Out of Towners!! It has Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis starring in it. One of the best Jack Lemmon films out there too!!! This version of the movie tho was one of Steve Martin's worst performing roles....   more >> Customer Review Martin & Hawn are no Lemmon & Dennis... - 4 out of 5  (10/27/1999) I was given this DVD as a gift, since I was a big fan of the original "Out Of Towners" with Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis. However this up to date version wasn't nearly as good. The movie isn't terrible, but I guess I was expecting more of the original version. Yeah, the storyline is the same, moving from Ohio to NYC.
