Synopsis
Farewell, Ohio, Hello, hilarity! Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn reunite for this exhilarating comedy based on the Neil Simon screenplay. They play Henry and Nancy Clark, a married couple whose passion cooled long ago. But now their last child has left the nest, and the solidy Midwestern Clarks have a chance to relocate to New York City. Anything can happen. And for the next 24 hours, everything does. Luggage is lost. A private marital moment becomes very public. A rude hotel manager vexes them and an angry Rottweiler pursues them. These and many more antics fly by wild and fast. And talented comics Martin, Hawn and Cleese are just the folks to keep up with them.

Buy the original Out of Towners---- - 2.25 out of 5  (5/28/2003)
This remake of the Neil Simon comedy sucked! There are very few funny parts in the movie, and if you want to see a hilarious version of a couple going from the small-town life of Ohio to the big-city life of NYC, buy the original Out of Towners!! It has Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis starring in it. One of the best Jack Lemmon films out there too!!! This version of the movie tho was one of Steve Martin's worst performing roles....   more >>

Martin & Hawn are no Lemmon & Dennis... - 4 out of 5  (10/27/1999)
I was given this DVD as a gift, since I was a big fan of the original "Out Of Towners" with Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis. However this up to date version wasn't nearly as good. The movie isn't terrible, but I guess I was expecting more of the original version. Yeah, the storyline is the same, moving from Ohio to NYC. But something happened. Maybe it's because it isn't Jack and Sandy, constantly yelling "George!" "Gwen!!" (BTW, in this version, they are Henry and Nancy). But, if you like St   more >>
