Empire Review Grumpy old Presidents - 4 out of 5  (4/16/2001) I wasn't quite sure whether to call this film "Grumpy Old Presidents" or the "Odd Chiefs of Staff." Either way, I have to say that I enjoyed MY FELLOW AMERICANS as much as I did any of the other "Odd Couple" movies. Walter Matthau wasn't in this film but James Garner does a perfectly good job at replacing him as the other half of the Grumpy old combo. James Garner plays Matt Douglas, also former President of the   more >> Customer Review Grumpy Old Presidents! - 3.25 out of 5  (9/11/1998) This is yet another vehicle for Jack Lemon to argue and trade insults with his co-star, this time James Garner replaces Walter Matthau. It is however still enjoyable watching the on screen bickering and the conspiracy plotline provides a couple of laughs and thrills. The whole movie has a glossy look to it and a pretty good soundtrack with a nice helicopter crash. Support comes from other old favorites Lauren Bacall,John Hurt and Dan Ackroyd.
