Payito get in. Prayito get out!
Director Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) pays affectionate tribute to various classic horror movies in this tale of two teenage couples who spend the night in a sleazy carnival funhouse. On her first date with Buzz (Cooper Huckabee). Amy (Elizabeth Berridge) disobeys her father and goes to the carnival with Richie (Miles Chapin) and Liz (Largo Woodruff), but their first date may end up as their last. After witnessing a murder, the four terrified teens are trapped in the maze of the funhouse and stalked by a real monster, a horribly deformed killer who lurks among the freakish exhibits to butcher them one by one. Also known as Carnival Of Terror, it features Sylvia Miles (Midnight Cowboy) as an ill-fated fortune teller and gory special makeup designs by Oscar winner Rick Baker (An American Werewolf In London, Ed Wood).

a good horror movie...not great but, not boring either. - 3.25 out of 5 (7/28/2003)
tobe hooper directed this horror movie with a sense of carnival like atmosphere. thats a wonderful idea but, i didn't like the masked monster. you knew it was masked demon instead of a true life freak of nature. but, when you have a budget to work with...by the way, the carnival charactors were more freaky than the masked villian...why didn't tobe hooper use them to kill off our unwanted guests ?!!! we will never know. still, a good movie.
