It's a cruel statement but moreoften than not true. And why shouldn't it be. There are some really incredible stories wherepeople have overcome adverse odds to achieve more than the average persondoes. ROCKY, RAIN MAN, SHINE and DOMINICK AND EUGENE come you mind asexamples where people really beat the odds. It takes extraordinary peopleand makes them heroes. People around Carla think that she cannot live on her own,she cant have her own decisions...But not... Carla is ambitious and definite to do what she wants. She moves to a new aprtment,marries a guy like herself and so on... Great acting of Juliette Lewis as Carla. Diane Keaton is wonderful .... Great film.   more >>
