Okay, now take notes because there will be a test later.
In 1959 Howard Hawks made Rio Bravo, a classic western with a simple story about small-town sheriff that must arm his prisoners to defend his jail from a gang of murderous criminals. It is generally regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made.

Very disappointing - 2.5 out of 5 (11/16/2005)
This was an extreme disappointment. The original movie by John Carpenter remains a classic in its genre, even if slightly dated. While technically this one is clearly superior, it lacks the brutality that made the first movie so special. Also there is too much talk compared to the first movie. There was an overall sense of menace that is lacking completely here. The storyline was perfect and did not need to be changed at all.
