A wonderful samurai film, worth owning. - 4 out of 5 (10/17/1999)
If you like Mifune strutting and swaggering in the "Seven Samurai" and like him even more in the three Samurai series, you'll love him as the grizzled, intelligent
thinking-man's Samurai in this film. Get ready to be pleasantly surprised by a good story with a good moral.
A very clear transfer to dvd, though I can't say I ever saw it in any previous version.
Subtitle are in English and a little small at the bottom of the screen, so be ready to choke up on your television.
