Customer Review The Best Horror Movie of All Time! - 5 out of 5  (11/5/2007) This is easily John Carpenter's best film, but it is also the finest horror film of all time. The make-up effects are fantastic, the sense of isolation and paranoia is unbelievable, and the acting is just great. It is arguably John Carpenter's crowning achievement as a filmmaker (Trivia fact: the original 'Thing' is featured in Halloween), both in terms of technical achievement and storytelling.
