Synopsis
'Rushmore' is a story of a gifted, rebellious teenager named Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman), a 10th grader at elite Rushmore Academy. Editor of the school newspaper, captain or president of innumerable clubs and societies, Max is also one of the worst students in the school, and the threat of expulsion hangs permanently over his head.
Max's world is rocked when he falls for elegant 1st grade teacher Miss Cross (Olivia Williams), and he plans to erect an aquarium in her honor - then finds himself competing for her affections with his friend, steel tycoon Mr. Blume (Bill Murray), the wealthy father of two of his classmates.

Great movie - 4.5 out of 5  (5/9/2005)
Another great Bill Murray film! This is the story of a young man with an infatuation with his teacher. He will go to anything length to get her attention. This film is very clever, funny, and witty. Great preformances from Schwartzman and Murray.   more >>

I saw it during a visit to America and it totally blew my mind. Here was an oddity, an original film with a lot of heart that managed to be both funny and poigniant in places. Schwartzman is terrific and Bill Murrey once again proves himself to be one of the most under-rated actors around, possessing his verve for comedy but also the ability to fle   more >>

Bill Murray is especially excellent and all of the actors shine through. The director-writer team of Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson serves as one of Hollywood's best u   more >>
