A tangled case involving industrial pollution by two highly esteemed conglomerates. They are accused of contaminating drinking water and causing the deaths of innocent children in the New England vicinity in the early 1980's.

A Second Look at "A Civil Action" - 4.25 out of 5 (2/9/2000)
This a re-review of "A Civil Action", which was one of last years best films. I loved this movie alot when I first saw it, yet I don't think I put much into my original review. The purpose of this review is to be more in depth in my appreciation for this film.

The Lawyer's Dilemma......... - 4.5 out of 5 (8/11/1999)
Too often in courtroom movies, lawyers are portrayed in a most negative fashion. "A Civil Action" is a totally different kind of courtroom drama. There are some of those negatively portrayed lawyers in the film, but for the most part, it paints a different picture of the main character's profession. A different kind of legal drama... - 4 out of 5 (7/25/1999)
A Civil Action might be one of the best courtroom dramas ever made for two reasons. One, it's based on a true story, and as such, comes across as an non-idealistic and decidedly unglamorized look at the legal system. Two, it's unique in the fact that for a legal drama, very little of the film actually takes place in the courtroom.
