The last thing Dr. Johnny Dalton (Jeff Fahey - Silverado, The Lawnmower Man) remembers is getting beaten by a group of eco-terrorists who were vandalizing his lab at Azine, a biotech firm that specializes in animal cloning. When he wakes up, his business partner Frank Donahue (Michael Ironside - Starship Troopers, Top Gun The Perfect Storm) tells him that fifteen years have elapsed and Johnny is merely a clone of himself with a set of reloaded memories. He's been created to track down the real Dr. Dalton who disappeared over a year earlier, taking with him Azine's most devastating discovery as well as the key to disarming Johnny's genetic time-bomb.
Finding Dalton won't be easy. He's somewhere in the disease-infested urban wilderness known as "the outback," where a rebel army battles to take the country back from Azine, now a worldwide corporate monster. The rebels soon capture Johnny, but he finds an ally among them in Nikki Holland (Tahnee Welch - Cocoon, I Shot Andy Warhol, "Falcon Crest"), who can lead him to the real Dr. Dalton.
When Johnny and Nikki finally catch up with Dalton, the secrets he reveals about Azine, Frank Donahue and the mysterious Mr. Bosch (John Neville - The Fifth Element "The X-Files") are far more shocking than anything they ever expected. This futuristic thriller takes the concept of genetic engineering to a whole new level, and into a world that may be just over the horizon.
