Empire Review A serial killer thriller! - 4.25 out of 5  (10/6/2000) Here's a true story for ya! I had a relative that picked up a hitch-hiker and gave him a ride home. The kid's mother was so annoyed that he would do such a thing that she tried every trick in the book to punish him. He never did seem to get it, until I showed him the movie "The Hitcher" and then he understood. Of course, it may have been that he was tired of listening to all of us prattle on the evils of picking up hitch-hikers, but still he loved the movie. And why shouldn't he? It was on   more >> Customer Review The Best Slasher Film of the 80's! - 3.5 out of 5  (9/6/1999) The Hitcher was always one of my favorites when I went through my "teen horror movie" phase. But, I had forgotten what a great movie it was till I saw it again on DVD. After 15 years, it's hard to rate any movie next to it. The story is the best of its kind. It gets right to the action and keeps going. I hate to use this phrase, but it's a non-stop roller coaster ride. And, it's intelligent. No bubble-headed co-eds being mindlessly slaughtered.
