Stomping, whomping, stealing, singing, tap-dancing, violating. Derby-topped teddy-boy hooligan Alex has his own way of having a good time. He has it at the tragic expense of others. Alex's journey from amoral punk to brainwashed proper citizen forms the dynamic arc of Stanley Kubrick's future-shock vision of Anthony Burgess' novel. Unforgettable images startling musical counterpoints, the fascinating language used by Alex and his pals - Kubrick shapes them into a shattering whole. Hugely controversial when first released, A Clockwork Orange won the New York Film Critics Best Picture and Director honors and earned four Academy Award nominations, including best picture. The power of its art is such that it still entices, shocks and holds us in its grasp.

Buy it, and viddy the meaning of it, all my brothers! - 4.25 out of 5 (9/25/2003)
Everyone was upset with gifted director Stanley Kubrick's passing in '99, but everyone was even more upset when, upon handing over his most recent project A.I. to Steven Spielberg, he committed directorial overkill. Turning a grim and unflinching film like Kubrick was famous for into a typical sanitized Saturady morning serial fare like Spielberg was famous for knocked him off his superstar family film director throne, if he actually had one.
And so Kubrick died, leaving us with, unfortunatel

Clockwork Orange........... - 2.5 out of 5 (3/19/2000)
Alex, a violent juvenile in the near future, is caught after a number of brutal rapes and murders. While imprisoned, he submits to a controversial experiment to make criminals ill at the mildest suggestion of violence or conflict. Now Alex's victims want to welcome him back into society with the same enthusiasm Alex had always exhibited when performing his crimes.
Not one other film in the 70's demanded so much from its audience. Often thought to be a violent exploitation film, this is perfect

Average disc, HORRORSHOW Film - 3.5 out of 5 (8/14/1999)
With the Kubrick Collection, the film quality, DEFIFINETELY outweighs the presentation of it. A Clockwork Orange, Kubrick's most twisted, controversial, and engrossing film, seems to be the best presented of the Collection (Mind you, I dindn't buy the whole Collection, 2001 and Full Metal Jacket don't do much for me.) The picture is very inconsistant. It's usually somewhere between a three and a four rating, occaisionally, and oddly, is an EXTREMELY good picutre, a five rating, and, seldom, the
