In this rapid-fire sequel to the cult favorite, the Federation's best Mobile Infantry unit goes back into action against the Bug horde. But this time, the Bugs are waiting for them. Better than your average sequel - 4 out of 5 (5/18/2004)
It's hard to make a sequel to a classic film like STARSHIP TROOPERS.
And looking at the box art, I have to admit I wasn't expecting much. In fact it looked just like the box of a typical sequel. You know the type: Half the budget, none of the talent and a story that is just a rehash of the original.

STARSHIP TROOPERS was probably best sci-fi ever. When I saw STARSHIP TROOPERS 2, i was thinking i expect more from the first film, i was wrong. STARSHIP TROOPERS 2 is mainly about troopers are killing huge alien bugs taking over Earth for mass destruction. The troopers are held in a base to wait for a cavalry. I haven't seen such a poor followup film in many years. What a waste! The acting is O.K. but the story is extremely poor. It cannot compare to the first "Starship Troopers".

I read the empire review on this movie and was very excited to see it. I purchased it and was most let down by the fact that it sucked. The acting was bad at best, with few exceptions. The plot was weak and predictable. The action which was so great according to empire was barely existent, and so spread out that I had to fight to stay awake through all the crap they talked about moving from fight to fight.
