Disappointing - 3 out of 5 (1/11/2005)
Until recently, I would normally be complaining about how Sony/TriStar handled a classic Godzilla movie. With ADV's Gamera titles and their experience with anime, I expected much more. Even cheaply made bargain DVDs usually have at least a couple of chapter stops. This DVD has zero chapters. You have to scan forward or enter the time (hh:mm) to skip forward to a certain point. No menus either. The movie is letterboxed, and the overall image quality looks great for an older film. Th

Same Video Transfer From Previous DVD Release - 2.25 out of 5 (6/7/2004)
Sadly, this 2-disc release features the exact same DVD version of the movie as was offered originally by this company. The DVD has no menu; the video is NOT anamorphic 16x9 widescreen, but merely a standard letterbox 2.35 transfer, even though the package states it should be "16:9". If you have the previous ADV issue, then you already have the DVD portion of this new issue. Too bad more effort was not put into making a better release for this classic TOHO film.
