The end of a quest... - 5 out of 5 (6/7/2004)
Wow. What can I say about Return of the King that its multitude of Oscars (including Best Picture) doesn't already say? Well, how about the movie just gets better every time I see it. (And that has been a lot.) It is of course the final film of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and many peoples opinions, it was the best of the three. I personally choose to view the whole series as one giant movie the way it was intended, so for me it is impossible to say.

The movie is a stunning visual pleasure, the drama moving, the action awesome, the DVD quality top rate, the sound Outstanding! the extras are great too, if you have seen the first two, you must have this in your collection.....period.

The problem with Lord of the rings is that it has such a reputation to live up to from the books, that makes it virtually impossible for poor ol' Jackson to please everyone.. if you look at the effort put into the production, and view the film as it is without any expectations at all., i think you could agree it is absolutely fantastic, beyond anything done in history.
